IDP Turns 30!

We are very proud to be celebrating our 30^th year in business here at IDP. Based in the heart of Coventry, over the past three decades we have continued to diversify, offering a multi-disciplinary approach to architecture, urban and landscape design. We continue to bring passion to life, through our team of professionals, and in the places we create.

Established in 1996 by David Blake (and his dog), we are now a multi-award winning practice. We started our journey in Central Birmingham, where we won our first substantial competitive bid to deliver King Edward’s Wharf and the regeneration of the Jewellery Quarter.

Following this, we have secured projects nationally, diversifying our services and leading the way. We have grown from strength to strength, delivering substantial housing developments and apartment blocks, sports and leisure complexes, student facilities, schools and health and social care projects. Our approach is to create great places – places that work for people. This is at the very heart of everything we do.

We are design led, but commercially minded. We challenge the status quo, but make sure all projects are viable, and that the places we create are the best they can be. We apply equal attention to building design, landscape design, and consideration for the community and environment in which they operate. We consider how people use spaces, which is why our ethos has always been ‘placemaking for life’.

Our strength, of course, has always been based on the strength of our people, and the relationships we build with our clients and their project teams. We have a great reputation and that is why we’ve worked with many companies time after time, for decades.

We are looking forward to the next 30 years and to making positive contributions to communities across the UK.
