IDP’s Landscape design team secure planning for 11 Sports England compliant pitches at Clipstone Park, Leighton Buzzard
24th March 2022
Development partners Taylor Wimpey and Barratts instructed IDP to design and prepare the specification for eleven Sports England compliant football and rugby pitches, their associated hard and soft landscaping, vehicle parking, boundary treatments, site drainage and ground modelling quickly, in order that permission could be granted before time ran out on their Clipstone Park development, Leighton Buzzard.
Clipstone Park is a highly sought after new community on the rural edge of Leighton Buzzard. Just a thirty minute commute by train to London, the development is set within extensive green space, houses new parks, a new neighbourhood centre along with new schools and sports, community, amenity, play and leisure facilities.
Working with our Client and their project manager Isaac Mercer, we leveraged our specialist knowledge and experience in the field of sports facilities and landscape design to succeed in submitting the required planning pack on time and with sufficient technical detail to enable Central Bedfordshire Council to grant planning permission.
The new sports pitches and associated facilities are expected to be open for use by all early autumn.
